To create a Gallery feature in AMAIS:
- Select Options > Edit Page if you are not in Edit mode already.
- Scroll to the bottom of the zone you wish to add the feature to, and select the yellow + icon.
- In the Create a New Feature menu, enter your Feature Name, then select Gallery from the Feature Type section.
- Select Save. The dialog box will close and return you to the page, where a new Gallery feature will appear.
If you are using the Column layout, you will need to set the column width.
Types of Gallery
There are five types of Gallery:
- Slideshow: The default Gallery format. Typically used for single images or sliding carousel galleries.
- Thumbnails: A Gallery that shows all uploaded images in thumbnail format. When selected, the thumbnails will expand to full width within a dialog window. Defaults to rows of three images, but you can use custom CSS on the Gallery's settings to change that; site-thumbnail-dt-X site-thumbnail-mob-Y, with X and Y a number between 1 and 6 to determine how many images are displayed in each row of the Thumbnail Gallery on desktop and mobile.
- Link Slideshow: Allows you to apply a link to each image in a gallery, rendering the image clickable to open the link.
- Tab Slideshow: Typically used if you require a gallery with detailed descriptions for each image. Works well for staff bio carousels!
- Pop-up Slideshow: Selectable images that pop up in a dialog box. Also used for galleries with descriptions for each image, but often require an extra touch of styling from the FED (front-end developer) to make this gallery type in-line with your website style.
