Tagging and Filtering For Display Features

← Return Read on ↓

What Tags Will I Need?

Tags are applied to the items (pages, posts, renditions, etc) that you would like to appear in your Display Feature.

There are two types of tagging needed for Display Features:

  • The page or post collection tag, i.e. News *
  • Any filter tags that allow filtering of items in the display feature by theme or subject, i.e. Athletics.

*Note: The collection tag should be applied to each of the pages or posts that you would like to appear in your display feature and is the tag associated with your page or post collection. If you have not already done so, you will need to set up a page or post collection and update your display feature to pull this collection in.

Filtering

To set up filtering on the display feature:

  • Hover over your new display feature and select the Pen Icon.
  • Go to the Settings tab.
  • Scroll down to Filter Settings.
  • Type out the desired tags. Please be aware that if you select the ‘Do you want to show tag filers option?’ these will appear on the page in the order in which they have been entered.
  • Select Save.
  • Go to the pages that you would like to be pulled through to your display feature.
  • On each of these pages go to Page Settings.
  • In the Tag Field under Properties type in your tags.

Once you have your filtering tags set up on your display feature you will need to also apply the filtering tag, i.e. athletics, to each of the corresponding pages or posts featured in your collection.

To do this:

  • Go to the page / post that you would like to be linked to the filter tag, in this example athletics.
  • Go to Page Settings.
  • In the Tags Field enter the same tag that you used to set up filtering on your display feature. So, if the filter on the display feature is ‘Athletics’ you would type ‘Athletics’ in the page tag field. Please be aware that this is case sensitive.
  • Select Save.
