There are four types of Links you can add within a Text Feature:
- URL Link
- Link to Anchor in Text
- E-mail Link
- Phone Number Link
In addition, there are several Protocols for a Link:
- http://
- https://
- ftp://
- news://
- Other
Depending on the Link you insert, this will usually auto adjust to the required Protocol.
Adding Links
All four types of Links will start the same way:
- Enter edit mode in AMAIS on the page you wish to edit
- Highlight the text you wish to add a Link to
- Select the Link icon in the text editor pop-up (Resembles a chain link)
- After selecting the Link icon, you will be met with the Add Link pop-up. From here you can input the Display Text, select the Link Type, select the Protocol, input the desired URL, or select Browse Server to link from the assets uploaded into AMAIS
Adding URL Link
The steps for adding a simple URL Link are as follows:
- Set Link Type to URL (This is usually the default)
- Input desired URL into the URL Text Field
- Change Display Text if desired
- Select OK to save your changes
Adding URL Link to an Asset in your DAM
The steps for adding a URL Link to an Asset in your DAM are as follows:
- Set Link Type to URL. (This is usually the default)
- Click Browse Server (This will load your DAM)
- Select the Asset from your DAM by clicking the checkmark in the upper left corner of the asset and then click the yellow Update button
**Note: Make sure your Asset is Published - it may not show otherwise - Change Display Text if desired
- Select OK to save your changes
Adding E-mail Link
The steps for adding an E-mail Link are as follows:
- Set Link Type to E-mail.
- Input desired E-mail into the E-mail Address Text Field.
- You can then set a desired Message Subject, as well as a Message Body Text.
- Select OK to save your changes.
Adding Phone Number Link
The steps for adding a Phone Number Link are as follows:
- Set Link Type to Phone.
- Input desired Phone Number into the Phone Number Text Field.
- Select OK to save your changes.
How do I make a Link open in a New Window/Tab?
The steps for making a Link open in a New Window/Tab are as follows:
- Navigate to the Target tab while in the Add Link pop-up.
- Select the Target dropdown, and choose New Window (_blank).
- Select OK to save your changes.
